How do you tell when one moment has ended and another begun?
Have I finished eating the Valencia orange I was eating a few minutes ago? How can I really tell? If I try, I can experience it as though it is now. And if I do the same with other “older” thoughts, I can be there, too. Neurological test have shown that when a distance runner “thinks” the run with clarity, the nerves fire Just As Though Running The Actual Track! So your body can’t differentiate.
Mind is a powerful thing. It has the ability to stretch time out into a linear thing, but when you look closely…..it is reasonable that all time is going on at the same time. The thing that changes is you…your chosen point of observation.
Now, think about the times when you had a psychic experience. When the phone rang, you knew who it was calling, and there was no reason for it. Someone at the office has been away for a time and you didn’t even notice until one day….and that’s the day they returned. Or maybe you just pulled some factoid “out of the ethers” that you didn’t know you knew.
Everyone has these experienced. Some folks don’t pay attention, or call it coincidence.
But that evidence points to the fact that we are all sharing one mind. There is no distinct edge between you and the next guy. Not really.
The point here is this: You are the determiner of your experience. You choose what perspective, what time you want to be in. And you are the one who decides how aware you want to be of your intrinsic connection to …..well…..everything.
So the obvious next question is: What will you choose? Where do you want to be? Who do you want to see?
Do you insist upon seeing your brother as a limited, flawed human, that unconnected to you and opposing you? Or how about the reality that this same brother is Perfect. Another Whole Part of God, just as you, and in this moment in time is only a reflection of your idea of Whatever You Choose!
Can you see how taking complete responsibility is the only reasonable choice? It’s the only way out of the typically held and very human idea that you are a victim to all that surrounds you?
Hey! What are you thinking? This is a question I ask myself, oh, say, 100 times a day.
I am always fucking it up - going off course and then correcting. Then going off course again and asking for help to get back in the flow. That’s OK. It’s part of the deal. (Listen, if you are going to get all tangled up in doing it perfectly, you will never begin to live. That’s called writer’s block.)
It took years of applied effort to begin to be able to even tell when I was out of the flow, but that’s another talk! Ha!
So, today, ask yourself these two things, and do it a lot:
What am I thinking?
What is it for?
If it is for love, inclusion, forgiveness, release, then Cool!
If it is for separation, being right, holding a position (fear) and opposition, then Let It Go.
Learn to move easily out of that crap! You owe it to yourself and the entire racemind!
I still vote for Love.
I still vote for You!
